Paperpiecing:
Working With Multiple Segments (07.02.2008)
Each time you join two segments the seam will take up a little fabric at the fold. You can make up the difference by sewing just inside the seam allowance when joining segments. This will reduce the risk of the thread showing or your block turning out too small because there is too much tension at the seams.
The more seams meet in one spot the more important this little trick is. It won't impact the pattern and is barely noticeable, if at all. Occasionally you will also want to iron the seam allowances open so that they don't pile up too high!
Anyhow - remove the paper strips at segment seams immediately. But don't iron before the block is complete and the paper is removed.
